A MESSAGE TO EVRY IIITian.

The second semester ended without much noise & hype.Through this,1 year of my engg career came to an end.Only 3 yrs left.It wont take much time to end also.In this short span of 1-year, i have learnt a lot of things & also need to rectify the mistakes committed.More than that ,I wish to say something to all my IIITian friends which I believe is  difficult to communicate it individually.Hence i took the help of this blog to say what i want to.We are the 1st batch of this great institute. The management has given us enough freedom to exercise our power as well as responsibilities ,which we must realise ASAP.Just going into the class everyday, jotting down notes ,doing practicals as prescribed in the syllabus wont call us an engineer-at least from my point of view.We need to make our college a happening place.

There is wide spread monopoly, power-hunger, favoritism...and I am not talking of Indian politics. It something about my college---dark side of a beautiful place.

It is worth mentioning that even though we lack a standard auditorium, sports equipments, lavish sponsors blah...Blah…we have managed to stage some remarkable events like “nostalgia”, “nebulae”, volleyball tournament….

But the situation back stage is altogether different. Its marks disorganization…

I remember the scheme of cricket matches was changed and it benefited some and caused problem for the others…which finally lead to a feud.
Quiz competition was marked with baseless controversies.
Girls started complaining of partiality in referees’ decision making, therefore demanded a printed layout of match rules.
Handball match was never played. …..The list goes on.

These issues point to the ethical standards of the students and definitely affect the quality of events we showcase.
In the next three years we have a handful of fests to be organized.

If we continue with blame-game and power-hunt we will ended up being ashamed as we are for the common wealth games.
Situation demands change!!!

But i don't want to sound too sarcastic or pessimistic.
We are fortunate enough to stay in a campus which is ragging free. The M.tech r the helping lot. They  really did help us in every way to organize events.we must acknowledge dem .Lets keep the atmosphere pleasant in the years to come. But not having ne senior batch can also affect us in some ways.We will miss the guidance & wits of a senior.
There are many talented people in our campus.some r good in games like volleyball, cricket, basketball where as  der r people who have  keen interest in music.Anubhav, aditya, pritam do play der instruments well..But dey dont play it so often as dey used to earlier...& do u know the reason why?because the atmosphere here in our college is not so supportive or encouraging.Anubahv playz his guitar only when he becomes senti or looses his bet in a dare-truth game. Then  der is the  section of Tech-club.We have to do a lot in this field, keeping in mind the time we r left with.My friend vishnu & rest associated with it r doing a lot of work right from the word "go".& I think dey will surely come up with sumthng productive & useful for all of us students. Moreover,we cant depend on the management every time.Sometimes,we ourselves have to step in & take on the responsibilty.Der is no doubt dat only "academic excellence" has gotten us in his institute ..but to sustain in the life ahead we need to have something other dan dat.& itz for all of u to decide what dat"something oder" should be..
well,i dont wanna sound much preachy !!I end here with a brief description about my stay at IIIT,gothapatna.
Life has been great to all of us ..so do acknowledge it.I hope ,i begin with wid sumthing new as soon as the 3rd sem rolls on.Till den take care & live life king -size.

REGARDS,
SAMBEET

will be waiting for ur feedbacks..!!
