LIFE AT IIIT,GOTHAPATNA

NEBULAE-EVERY1 DANCING TO MAX!!

  FIRST SEMESTER                     After all the drama of entrance exams,admissions & counselling I finally got into IIIT-BHUBANESWAR.
At the first look of the campus i was really shattered into bits.!A nearly 30% complete infrastructure with minimal arrangement  for accommodation & only 240 -odd students .I asked myself-"Am I gonna study here after all,in such a sultry,hot & humid place of bhubaneswar?".I was destined to study here after all!It took some time for me to get into the reality!I couldn't help myself!...classes started functioning from 1st week of september 09.For the first 1 month I was a day scholar!My daily routine usually consisted of waking up at 5 in the morning,going to d stadium,pratice some tennis for an hour or two,coming back quickly & getting ready for college.The academic routine of college was same as what i used to do for the past 18 years of my student career!Nothing interesting,nuthng innovative!Listen to the lectures,scrap down  d notes & vomit dem during xamz ..datz it!It was kinda dull & dry routine.I used to ask myself-"Do we call dis as engineering?"But der was a class dat i lykd very much-communicative english!never knew english can be dat fun!Doing acts,dramatization of a scene,group discussion on a subject-twas fun!Somehow the first month passesd,after which we had our dushera holidayz..after the holidayz got over,i became a hosteliter.Soumya ranjan barishal...often called as "BARI" who was my schoolmate ,was also my branchmate.so i was never alone in class.





            
                                               DIWALI CELEBRATION 

                                                           Slowly,I started making friends.The first month of the first sem went too  slow.   In the mean time october  had  arrived & so did the festival of diwali.Diwali was celebrated by the hostelites with great zeal.A group of girls on that very day shared sweets & lit candles with the construction workers residing in our campus-thus displaying the sole objective of celebrating diwali.I congratulate them for such a stupendous effort!But on the other hand we boyz remained boys afterall.....we were just busy bursting crackers & creating noise of all sorts!The M.Tech guyz also had their share of joy.Der was also a bonfire under the btful night sky to make it a memorable event.

DIWALI CELEBRATION

                                         Moving on,after the second internals..the students decided to arrange a fresher's party for themselves-one of itz kind afterall!!!.The tempo started building up in the hostel life.People got themselves busy in the preparation mode.There was a "JOSH" among people to organize the event.our fresher's day was named as "NEBULAE"-meaning birth of a star..& why not???evry1 was star in der own way,afterall dey had hit der head hard to come to dis place.isnt it???The function went quite well.I really liked Pratik's "tera hi karam wala" dance.I did a bit of nuisance & irritating  mimicry ...and a small play.My hindi was of rice-eating level(in oriya we say it-"pakhala khia hindi".)The people loved the DJ.Every1 danced to the maximum.There a kind of fraternity in the college campus after the event.Not to forget-lucky,anubhav ,bagmi & soumyashree did an outstanding job as anchors...

                               Meanwhile i got very much familiar with my dorm-mates.It wont be wise if I dont give a glimpse of them to you.Starting with CHANDAN-he is the studious guy,studying in his alloted place all day long.Never had ny kind of issues with any 1..Simple & Sober,Shares his grubs(khanay kay items) with every1 in the room.Next is SOUMYA RANJAN CHAINI-nick named as "ZEZEY":-meaning grandfather{for the reasons why he was nicknamed so,u can better ask him).He is involved in all sorts of bluffs& extra -terrestrial things happening in the campus.He is a die hard cricket lover who watches even a test match ball by ball.Then comes our mathe-magician-aka-SUJIT.He was the first guy whom i came across in my hostel.He is a helpful guy...bt i dnt know why at times he getz crazzzzzzzyyy...he involves himself everyday in window-talks all through the night wid his -better half!.The next guy on target is "ANSHUMAN" of ETC.Hez nicknamed as "tununu" coz he is wound around his cell 24*7.A soft spoken guy,thinking of "un-imaginable "things....HIS "nokia"cell is better half of him.He is a good guy but no1 "CHUPPA  RUSTAM".Our next person on coverage is "DON-AKA-SWASTIK BHAI".He is a great critic of movies,crazy about counter-strike,has an intellectual insight & very co-operative too.A word of caution -dont ever fool around with him,or else u wont b able to recognise ur face thereafter.After all digging in with a "BLACK-BELTER" can have far reaching consequences.moreover hez a gr8 counsellor too...people come to him with their personal woes.He is the "sanju -bhai"of our room.Next is our romantic,lover boy-mr.PRATIK -AKA-GRIHASTI..from rourkela.Tall,Handsome & Good in studies-a complete package for every college going girl in search of a boyfriend.But there is 1 thing-he is a gr8 MUGGER.A memory card of 16 GB automatically fits into his cerebrum during exams...& we all wonder"how cum dat guy rememberd  all the facts within hours?".Newayz he is committed now & well-settled with his household activities.After this ,it's CHAND KISHORE....FROM BALASORE...A Tech savy,brand conscious child he is.& we call him -"LALLANTAP".& Lastly itz "KIRTI"
-THE SILENT CHILD ..who comes with his own punchline in d midst of anythng.


For today itz dis much .I will be updating dis blog every day till our college reopens.Every IIITians r welcome to give commenst.More on 1st sem as well as 2nd sem  coming soon..
